Tracy is a storage town
Most Tracy RVs don't live at the house. They live in a lot off 11th Street or Grant Line, which means the pre-trip discovery problem is real here: you hitch up on Friday, and that's when you find out the batteries are flat, the slide won't come out, or the A/C is blowing warm. I go to the lots. Give me the gate code and I'll meet you there. Better still — call me the week before your trip and I'll do the check-over while the rig is still parked, so Friday is just hitching up and leaving.
How Altamont winds and Valley heat affect your rig
Tracy catches both problems at once. Wind off the Altamont goes after awnings, slide-toppers, and roof sealant. Valley summer heat goes after rooftop A/C units and anything with a capacitor in it. The A/C call I get most in July isn't a dead unit — it's a dirty condenser coil and a tired capacitor on a unit that's still perfectly repairable. Worth diagnosing before anyone sells you a replacement.

Common Tracy service calls
- Generator won't start after storage. Stale fuel, gummed carburetor. Very fixable on-site.
- Slide-out that binds or stops partway. Often the motor or a controller, sometimes just the rails needing service. I'm Lippert-certified, so slides and jacks are core work for me.
- House batteries that won't hold. Half the time it's the batteries, half the time it's the converter that never charged them properly. Worth knowing which before you buy four new batteries.
