What I See Most Often
Chalky Dead Gelcoat
This is almost universal on rigs over five years old that live outside here. The white looks dull and powdery, but it is almost always recoverable with care.
Cracked Lifting Decals
Valley heat cycling causes graphics to swing sixty degrees in a day. Once a decal is cracked, no product fixes it. It must come off and be replaced with new vinyl.
Stained Black Streaks
These are cosmetic but hint at where water runs. Left too long, these trails of dirt held in runoff will permanently stain the finish if not professionally cleaned.
Etched Hard Water Spots
From sprinkler overspray at home or in lots. If left long enough, mineral deposits etch into the gelcoat and stop being a simple cleaning problem.
Agricultural Residue
Orchard and ag spray residue is a real thing in the Stockton area. It is not something a normal wash takes off and requires specialized decontamination.
Selling Your RV Soon?
Buyers read a chalky exterior as neglected. A detailed rig with intact vinyl photographs better and typically sells for a much higher price than a dull one.

Initial Inspection
Call or text (209) 901-7667 with your rig’s age and condition. I always come look before quoting to assess the level of oxidation.

I work where the rig is parked—driveway, lot, or camp. I will need access to water and a standard outlet at your storage location.

Final Protection
Once buffed and cleaned, I apply a sealant to protect the recovered gloss from the harsh Central Valley sun.
Notes on Valley Storage
Our UV load and dust separate a rig stored here from one on the coast. Gelcoat that lasts a decade elsewhere starts chalking here in half that time. The practical takeaway: a seal or wax applied once a year does more for a Valley RV than the same product does almost anywhere else. It is the cheapest maintenance available. I also recommend three things not to do: don't pressure wash near seams, don't wax over decals (it discolors them), and never use petroleum-based cleaners on rubber roofs which break down the membrane.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can my faded decals be saved?
Depends on if they are faded or cracked. Faded graphics often respond to restoration, but cracked or peeling vinyl is past saving and must be replaced. I will tell you which you have before I start the job.
How long does a detail take?
A full exterior detail with oxidation removal is a full day on most rigs, sometimes more on a big Class A. This is a deep restoration, not just a quick two-hour wash and rinse.
Will you clean my RV roof?
Yes, using membrane-appropriate products. While I am up there, I will inspect your seams. While sealing is a separate repair job, you will definitely want to know their condition.
Can you work at my storage lot?
Yes, provided there is access to water and a standard power outlet. If the lot lacks these, tell me when you call and we will figure out a solution to get the job done.
