Discovery Bay is a water town, and that changes what breaks. Rigs out here live next to boats, sit through Delta humidity, and spend a lot of time parked rather than driven. I come out over Highway 4 and Bixler Road regularly, and I'd rather meet you at the rig than have you haul it inland.

Why the Delta is hard on RVs
This is the part shops inland don't think about.
- Moisture and roof seams. Delta humidity plus summer heat cycling works on your roof sealant faster than dry valley air does. Discovery Bay rigs get soft spots and delamination earlier than their mileage suggests. If yours has been parked waterfront for a few seasons and you haven't had the roof looked at, that's the first thing I'd check.
- Corrosion on everything electrical. Battery terminals, converter connections, and the ground straps under the chassis. Waterfront air is not kind to copper. A lot of "my rig is dead" calls out here turn out to be a corroded connection, not a dead battery.
- Generators that sit. Same story as everywhere, but worse when a rig is parked eleven months a year as a guest room and only rolls twice a summer.

Discovery Bay is out toward the edge of my radius, so calling earlier in the day helps me get there the same day. If you're planning ahead for a trip, even better — book the check-over a week out and you won't be calling me in a panic.
