Common Problems I See
No Propane at Appliances
If your stove works but your fridge and furnace don't, you likely have a regulator failure or a specific appliance gas valve issue. I diagnose the break in the chain.
The Smell of Rotten Eggs
Propane has an odorant added for safety. If you smell it, turn off your tanks immediately. I perform electronic leak detection and manometer pressure tests to find the source.
Regulator Fails in Heat
Central Valley heat is brutal on rubber regulator diaphragms. If your regulator is humming, buzzing, or leaking from the vent, it's time for a replacement.
Alarm Won't Stop Beeping
Propane/CO detectors have a 5-year lifespan. If yours is chirping, it could be a real leak or just an expired sensor. I test the air and replace old detectors on-site.
Yellow Flames on Stove
Your propane flames should be blue. Yellow flames indicate poor combustion, often caused by incorrect gas pressure or a dirty orifice. I adjust pressure to factory specs.
Auto-Changeover Not Working
If your rig doesn't automatically switch to the full tank when one goes empty, your changeover valve is faulty. I install high-quality replacements so you don't wake up cold.

Central Valley–Specific Notes
The Central Valley sun is brutal on rubber and plastic components. I frequently see propane regulators that have literally baked until the internal diaphragm cracks, leading to slow leaks or total pressure loss. Standard 'soapy water' tests can miss the tiny pinhole leaks caused by heat stress. That is why I use a professional manometer to measure exact water column pressure—ensuring your system holds a steady 11 inches under load and remains airtight at the source. Safety in the Stockton heat means testing to a higher standard, not just looking for bubbles.
Propane Service FAQ
How do I know if I have a propane leak?
The 'rotten egg' smell is the first sign. If you hear a faint hissing or notice your tanks are emptying faster than usual, those are red flags. I use a manometer to measure pressure drops, which catches leaks that soap bubbles can't see.
Can you fill ASME (chassis) tanks?
Yes. I can fill both permanent ASME tanks mounted to the chassis and portable DOT cylinders. My mobile fill capability means you don't have to break camp or drive a motorized rig to a station just for fuel.
Why did my propane appliances stop working at once?
This is usually a failed regulator or a tripped safety solenoid (often caused by a low battery or alarm fault). Regulators can gum up or fail due to heat. I can diagnose the blockage or electrical fault on-site.
Are propane alarms really necessary?
Absolutely. They expire every 5 years and aren't optional for safety. If yours is chirping or shows a red error light, it likely needs replacement. I stock standard RV propane and CO alarms for immediate swap.
